Ardell Demi Wispies // Review

image

Hi Everyone!

I hope you’re all well! I’m just finished another week of work , and decided that I need to sit down and get back to writing on the blog! I thought today I would review the demi wispies by Ardell , this is the first lash of theirs that I have tried so I thought I would talk a little bit about it.

I got these lashes at the makeup pro store in Derry and they cost me around £6.99 , which isn’t cheap . I’m used to buying the sultry lashes in penneys at €1.50 so this sort of broke my heart a little when I seen the price but I really wanted to try them so thought I would take the plunge … for the sake of the blog ( haha ) I know theres a lot of more expensive lashes out there too , but I always thought of Ardell as affordable drugstore.

I’m so impressed by these lashes , I decided to get the demi wispies because I wanted a lash that I could wear everyday and not have the added drama that the original whispies have. I wore these lashes to my sisters 18th and they stayed on all night AND looked natural. I honestly do think I will go back and purchase the original wispies though to have them for nights where I do want a little something extra to add to an eye look.

The band was very easy to hide because it was so thin.I love thin bands because it doesn’t look TOO obvious that you’re wearing fake lashes. With or without liner the band is very easy to hide which is something I just loved about them. There’s nothing worse than having a thick band in my opinion , they look unnatural and sometimes can be quite uncomfortable.

They were easy to wear and easy to apply and felt comfortable all night which is surprsing for me since it takes a couple of wears for a pair of lashes to sit right or feel comfy on me. The only gripe I have with this product is that it doesn’t come with a little itty bitty glue tube. luckily I like to keep all my little tubes of glue that come with lashes , I  just feel like its a waste to buy lash glue when half the time the glue comes with the lash. Other than that little hiccup I love these lashes.

have you tried these lashes? let me know your thoughts in the comments below I’d love to hear your opinion on them.

The Best Dewy Glow // Mac Soft & Gentle MSF

wp-1458754855048.jpg

Hi Everyone!

About two months back , I decided to really treat myself and go for a little mac goodie , I thought long and hard on what I really needed to acheive a perfect base , I had already got some holy grail products , but could never find a highlighter that suited me. After doing my research ( watching numerous youtube videos haha) I thought Soft and Gentle was the one and only for me.This product is such a staple in so many peoples makeup bags that I thought I should give it a whirl and see what the fuss was about.

So lets get into the nitty gritty details.

The price point is like any other Mac product , it doesn’t come cheap. This MSF came about at around 45ish but I knew I wanted to splurge on it , I’m not the type of person that really likes to treat myself unless its a birthday or holiday but I just thought after getting a new job , that I deserved it.

What drew me to it at first was the colour , its the most amazing pink champagne-y colour ever , and of course I just had to cover myself in it the first day I got it just to make sure it properly worked , I wouldn’t just want to put on the average amount of highlighter , oh no! I had to go all out.

I was actually surprised that it didn’t really feel that powdery when I touched it it felt like it just melted into my skin which of course I loved , there’s no worse feeling that having a big blotch of powder sitting on your cheeks doing nothing , its not at all flattering.

I am in love with dewy , fresh looking skin , I have quite dry skin so what ever type of product that promises moisture , or dewiness I’m all over and this product just changed my makeup game for the better.

If I want to go ALL OUT , and intensify it even more , before I add the S&G I like to get add a tiny bit of the Benefit high beam to the tops of my cheeks , blend it out and then apply S&G over that as it gives just a naturally stunning dew to the skin.

Have you ever tried this product? what are your thoughts on it? I would love to hear all about them in the comments below

Review: Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip – Lacquer

image (19)

I’ve never been the type of person to get into glosses , I always leaned more towards a lipstick , and If I wanted to get a little bit of a shine I usually made sure that the lipstick wasn’t matte. I decided a few weeks back to step out of my comfort zone and try something different. I picked up the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker lip gloss in the colour Charm Offensive, and have been absolutely adoring it since.

The Colour is a gorgeous warm toned pink with a hint of mauve running through it too. The colour is what drew me into it in the first place , I adore these colours as everyday looks , and decided instead of getting a really intense shimmery lip gloss that I would go for this as I’m sure I’ll get a lot of wear out of it.

The Pigmentation is absolutely outstanding for a lip gloss , I was always turned away by the pigments of other glosses because they wouldn’t stay on my lips  and never lived up to the colour in the tube. With one swatch this lip gloss will cover your entire lips.( please excuse my very pale hand haha I really need to throw some tan on)

The Smell is quite sweet , so if you aren’t overly excited over sweet-smelling lip products this isn’t going to be the one for you , in my opinion this isn’t too overwhelming and actually smells quite nice and yummy to me.

The Texture is quite thick and glossy , it can be quite sticky but you just need to know when to stop putting a lot on. I only do one application and I’m good to go , there’s no heavy gloopy feeling to this lip gloss that I find I get with a few glosses in my collection.

Overall I’m so so pleased with this product , it really makes me want to buy in more of them due to their formulation and colour payoff , this lip gloss last around 2ish hours on me , but I tend to lick my lips a lot  when I have lipgloss on because I’m not very used to it. I would say the lipgloss is very long wearing if you tend not to lick your lips a lot haha!

I hope you enjoyed this post, do you have this product? I would love to know your thoughts down below , if you have any questions feel free to also leave them down below in the comments.

Review: NYC Sunny Bronzer

sunnybronzer

Hi Guys!

So it dawned on me that after picking up this product a while back I never really mentioned  it on my blog. I love writing reviews because I feel it really helps people decide on their opinions whether to buy something or not ,whether something is worth the money , or just a waste. So today I’ll be reviewing the NYC Sunny Bronzer.

I picked this up after reading numerous posts about it  being a dupe for Hoola Bronzer(which I adore!) This bronzer is a fraction of the price of the hoola bronzer so I thought I would give it a go.

First things first , I HATE this bronzer. It’s not a dupe for Hoola at all , and it just makes you look orange and very unflattering in day light. I thought maybe it was just my skin tone so I tried this on friends and family with different skin tones and it just made them appear muddy and orange.

image (6)

The texture of this bronzer is not something desirable either , I find it extremely chunky and powdery ( if that makes sense) I honestly don’t know why it received such great reviews when there is so many other amazing drugstore bronzers on the market.

I also cannot stand the packaging , its flimsy and cheap and looking at other drugstore bronzers I feel NYC could of put more thought into it , I kept going back and forth from NYC and Essence and Essence has far better packaging for the same price!

The first time I tried this It was a disaster , I tried to blend it out as much as I could , but blending it out made it look even more muddy , and the orange was not fading at all. I wish I could say I loved this product but it comes nowhere near the quality of some other drugstore bronzers such as the Seventeen bronzer and the Bourjois chocolate bronzer.

If you’re looking for a inexpensive bronzer and you want it to do its job with making you look like a tanned goddess stay away from this one , and maybe opt for the Bourjois chocolate bronzer.

Have any of you guys tried out this bronzer? what did you think of it? I would love to hear your thoughts on the product down below.

Review: Catrice Even Skin Tone Foundation

DSCN0761

Hi Everyone!

I’m back again with a foundation review , So I think everyone who reads my blog will know I have a mixture of different foundations and I use all of them , but my all time favourite is the L’Oreal infallible matte foundation and has been now for a long time. I haven’t actually went out and purchased a new foundation since then , I have been buying backups , but when I seen the Even Skin Tone foundation in my local pharmacy at the price of 8.49 , I pounced on it.

I’m a huge fan of inexpensive products , I’m a student and I can’t afford to pay out for high end products all the time , so I usually stick to the drugstore stuff until it gets to a special occasion like a birthday or Christmas, so this foundation was right up my street.Lets get on with the review.

Coverage:

The coverage of this foundation is medium to buildable , on days where I don’t want a heavy coverage with the L’oreal infallible matte foundation , I tend to stick to this.

Texture:

This is probably the hardest thing for me to describe, its liquidy but not runny , its thick but also feels thin , its basically everything but looks perfect on the skin!

Smell:

The only thing I hated with this foundation is the smell , it stinks! its like a chemically smell , but I noticed with most of Catrices foundations they have that distinct smell , so maybe Catrice thinks its gorgeous and doesn’t want to change it , who knows?

Durability

So I put this foundation on at around 7;30 in the morning ( hurray for early morning classes!) and I find that it lasts around 5/6 hours , its not long wearing but I do tend to touch my face throughout the day.

If you’re looking for a foundation that is going to last you through the day, unfortunately this isn’t going to be the one , it will start to wear off on places you tend to get oily throughout the day . If you’re looking for a foundation that wont look cakey and wont be a mask on your face , this is your foundation. It’s very natural on the skin and makes it appear as its just your own skin but better.

I hope you enjoyed this little review, if there are any other products you would like me to review feel free to drop them below and I’ll take a little look!

Review: Primark Sultry Lashes

image (4)

Hi everyone

Today I thought I would review the Primark ( Penneys for us in Ireland) Lashes in the style “Sultry” , These are my go to lashes for either a, going out dramatic look or an everyday look that I want to add that little bit more to. I have gone through so many pairs of these its insane , so I thought I would do a little review for people who are hesitant on picking them up.

The sultry lashes go for a very budget friendly €1.50 ( I think its £1 in the UK. ) these lashes are not unlike the Ardell Whispies and for the price , you can’t complain. I usually don’t like to hold onto these lashes after the second use because I feel like I’ve gotten my wear out of them. I feel the same with the ardell whispies but to each their own.

I tend to go through lashes quite frequently so I don’t like buying expensive lashes that will end up in the bin after a second use, so these lashes are perfect for me because i don’t feel guilty about binning them after a night out!

These lashes are sooo fluffy and so light that they are extremely easy to apply. I used to suck at applying false lashes but these lashes make it a little more easier since they aren’t heavy. Depending on your eye shape you might need to cut them to shape your eyes , but it really isn’t too hard , just measure them up and take note on where to cut the lashes , you should always cut from the outside since you want to keep the lashes looking natural as possible.

I would recommend these lashes to anyone whos starting out with makeup or people who aren’t quite 100% confident in applying falsies , these lashes are the perfect price and size to fiddle with and practice on and you’ll be a pro at applying lashes by the end of it all!

I hope you enjoyed this little review and found it somewhat helpful. If you have tried these lashes or any of primarks lashes , comment below and tell me what you think of them!

Review: Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Palette

image (1)

Hi Everyone!

It feels like forever since I’ve done any sort of review on eyeshadows or makeup of any sort so I thought I would review the wet n wild  Comfort Zone Palette. I picked this up in my local Penneys ( primark to anyone from the UK) I had previously wanted to get the Walking on Eggshells palette But I seen this one and I’m trying to experiment with more colours these days and the green was just calling my name! I had previously watched tutorials on youtube using this palette so I felt the need ( obviously) to go out and buy it.

So onto the palette! I’ve watched many tutorials using this palette on youtube and the colour pay off looked amazing. I spent a whole day reading reviews and looking at swatches on different wet n wild palettes but I came to a decision that I needed the comfort zone palette out of all of them , the most. I swatched this the minute I got home and I literally died on the spot. These eyeshadows are beyond fantastic! They feel luxurious and rich and just high end!

The texture of the colours feels creamy and buttery and work like a dream when applying them. They blend out very easily and just add a more dramatic or natural feel to your makeup as there is so many versatile looks you can accomplish with them. They are all shimmers so there is no mattes in this palette. I’m quite a matte person so venturing out into shimmers was a HUGE difference for me , I don’t normally purchase shimmers I actually steer away from them but I thought I would do something different and out of my “comfort zone” ( Sorry I had to haha)

The price of this palette is amazing since the quality is so rich and creamy! I purchased this palette for around 5 euro.Bargain! In the palette you get 8 shadows , I like to think of one row as one eyeshadow look and the other as another eyeshadow look , but who’s to say you can’t mix together and use them together?

I would give this palette a 10/10 there really amazing for the price and I can’t wait to pick up more! I adore drugstore products , If I can find an amazing dupe for something I wont hesitate to purchase the cheaper alternative.

Also so so sorry for the crappy iphone picture of the palette , my room is currently being decorated and the painter was in today , my camera and leads were all in my wardrobe and they’ve been covered to save it from the paint haha should of took it out! whoops!

thanks so much for reading guys , if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask below and I’ll get back to you , You can follow me on Twitter and Instagram to see what I get up to when I don’t blog
