Ardell Demi Wispies // Review

image

Hi Everyone!

I hope you’re all well! I’m just finished another week of work , and decided that I need to sit down and get back to writing on the blog! I thought today I would review the demi wispies by Ardell , this is the first lash of theirs that I have tried so I thought I would talk a little bit about it.

I got these lashes at the makeup pro store in Derry and they cost me around £6.99 , which isn’t cheap . I’m used to buying the sultry lashes in penneys at €1.50 so this sort of broke my heart a little when I seen the price but I really wanted to try them so thought I would take the plunge … for the sake of the blog ( haha ) I know theres a lot of more expensive lashes out there too , but I always thought of Ardell as affordable drugstore.

I’m so impressed by these lashes , I decided to get the demi wispies because I wanted a lash that I could wear everyday and not have the added drama that the original whispies have. I wore these lashes to my sisters 18th and they stayed on all night AND looked natural. I honestly do think I will go back and purchase the original wispies though to have them for nights where I do want a little something extra to add to an eye look.

The band was very easy to hide because it was so thin.I love thin bands because it doesn’t look TOO obvious that you’re wearing fake lashes. With or without liner the band is very easy to hide which is something I just loved about them. There’s nothing worse than having a thick band in my opinion , they look unnatural and sometimes can be quite uncomfortable.

They were easy to wear and easy to apply and felt comfortable all night which is surprsing for me since it takes a couple of wears for a pair of lashes to sit right or feel comfy on me. The only gripe I have with this product is that it doesn’t come with a little itty bitty glue tube. luckily I like to keep all my little tubes of glue that come with lashes , I  just feel like its a waste to buy lash glue when half the time the glue comes with the lash. Other than that little hiccup I love these lashes.

have you tried these lashes? let me know your thoughts in the comments below I’d love to hear your opinion on them.

November Favourites // 2015

cats

Hi Everyone!

I can’t believe November is almost over and Christmas is just around the corner! I absolutely live for Christmas so I can’t wait to get right into the festive feeling and get my tree up in the next week or so.

Going into the colder months , I like to change up my makeup quite a lot because my skin gets so so dry so I’ll be talking about the products I’m loving to keep a healthy glow to my skin and then some random stuff towards the end of the post. This post includes a lot more skin care items just because of the time of year.Okay so lets get into it…

Beauty Items

Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser Lotion: Okay wow! I decided I needed to change up from the Garnier Micellar Water ( You can read all about it HERE) and try something new and this is my new holy grail cleanser. My skin feels like a babies bottom after I use this!

Avene Skin Recovery Cream: I adore this cream! I wear it usually at night because its a full on moisturizing cream and I feel its a little too heavy under makeup but its amazing to sleep in. My skin feels plumper and smoother in the morning its amazing

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation : I’ve fallen in love with this foundation again, I know a lot of people tend to go for more matte makeup in the winter but I hate when I have dry skin and then put more matte products on top of it I feel like I’m about to crack! This foundation is perfect because it’s a more tacky foundation that I could also set with powder if I so desire. You can read all about it HERE

Wet n Wild Walking on Egg Shells: So this might sound weird but I don’t use this palette for eyeshadow at all … I actually use the first eyeshadow as a highlighter and its bomb! Changes up my makeup game every time I apply it , if you have this palette give it a go, if you don’t it only costs around 5 euro so you wont be out of pocket!

NYX Soft Matte Lip cream in Morocco: A more recent love of mine, but a love nonetheless , I wrote all about this product in my last post that you can read HERE. I adore the colour its a very me colour and I love that its not overly matte when it dries.

La Roche Posay Effaclar duo: Another product I’ve fallen in love with again , I find this to be the best moisturizer to use under makeup because it stays tacky and it’s not heavy, its a very light almost gel like moisturizer which is perfect for applying makeup over.

Random Stuff

Butterfingers: I recently tried some Butterfingers and I think I died and went to Heaven … anyone who knows me knows I love anything with peanut butter in it , I am obsessed with Reese’s but these come first right now.

Asparagus: I feel so stupid putting this in a favourites post , but I’ve been enjoying my fair share of asparagus this past while haha! I hate any kind of vegetable its almost a chore for me to eat vegetables , but my boyfriends mum made dinner for us all last month and included asparagus and I just can’t stop eating it ever since. Shout out to asparagus!

Samantha Ravndahl: Currently obsessed with Sam , she’s been one of my favourite youtubers now for over a year. If you would like to check her channel out , youtube Batalash Beauty , Sam ,Dom and Angela are part of the Batalash team and make videos on various makeup looks!

So that’s it , those are my favourites for this month , short and sweet and totally random with the asparagus but even asparagus needs a little recognition once in a while 😉

Have you tried any of these products? Drop me a comment down below and tell me how you found them. You can follow me on Twitter , Instagram and subscribe to me on Youtube

My Pamper Evening Routine ♡

image (15)

Hi guys

So I’ve always wanted to do a pamper routine and I find I always have more time for pamper evenings than mornings due to college , I thought it would be cool to include some little snaps to my evening routine for you all, I hope you enjoy this little post!

When I come home in the evenings I usually take to the computer first and catch up on whatever Youtube I missed out on ( You can subscribe to me on Youtube HERE) I adore watching Danielle Mansutti she is super down to earth. I also go on Twitter and Facebook and see what’s going on over there too

image (17)

Next thing I love to do is make a little cup of tea , this helps me unwind and relax , I feel a lot more calm after I take my tea when its been a hectic day. I drink far too much tea in a day , I think I may have a problem!

image (11)

I usually hop on over my blog and see what everyone’s been posting and catch up on wordpress for a while , I love reading and writing posts these days , I’m focusing a lot more on my blog and I’ve been loving it!

image (12)

So after dinner , I usually like to go for a shower or bath , I decided on a bath today but unfortunately I had no nice bathbombs to add in so it was just normal bubbles for me! After my bath I then wash my face and follow up on my skin care.

image (13)

I then get into a pair of comfy pajamas and settle down for the night , I watch a little bit of TV and Youtube before going to bed.

I hope you enjoyed this little post , it was so fun to write and capture some snaps for. If you have any recommendation on blog topics I would love to hear them in the comments below. If you’d like to follow me on Twitter and Instagram feel free.

Winter Appropriate Makeup ♡

image (9)

Hi Guys ,

Look who’s being productive on the blog this week! I’ve been thinking a lot the past month on how I could change up my makeup and incorporate different products into my daily makeup  routine and make my “look” more “Winter appropriate” so I decided to sit down to a lovely cup of tea as the rain beats down outside and write about the products that can simply change up the look of your makeup to make you look like you’re ready to take on Winter!

In the colder months some women tend to get a little drier than usual , so I swap my usual L’Oreal infallible matte foundation for the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, this is a very dewy foundation so it will give you a glow even if you suffer from dry skin.

Winter is all about those dark red , cranberry lips and a staple in my Winter makeup is the Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick in 107 , this is a much raved about , much loved product in the beauty community and so it should be. It’s an amazing dark red that just makes a statement!

Golden eyes is a must for the winter , it shows off a bit of glitz and glamour and adds that sparkle to your eyes , personally I love golden eyes for the Christmas season because to me it just reminds me of how festive this time of year is! I love adding the Maybelline Colour Tattoo eyeshadow to the center of my lids because it makes your eyes appear bigger and sparkly  , keeping with eyeshadow I found a 15 warm coloured eyeshadow Palette on ebay a while back and thought that it would be perfect for creating warm toned looks for the winter. I adore the redish brown in the center for a crease colour to add something a little different to the look.

I don’t know about anyone else but i love glitter during Christmas , sometimes it can be a little bit of a task trying to get rid of any residue it leaves behind , but it adds something new to your makeup. I got the Collection Glam Crystals a while back and wanted to try something different with them , I actually add this to my inner corner of my eye when I do all matte on my eyes , I feel it really makes my eyes pop and its something different and cool for the winter.

Blush is a huge element that could change your makeup for the better during this season! I find deeper blushes to be amazing for this time of year. The Catrice Illuminating Blush in ” I am Nuts about You” is the perfect colour to be going into Winter with.

I tend to use less bronzer during Winter , because I feel I want to keep my makeup looking as season appropriate as possible  I also change my foundation to a shade lighter than usual because I feel it flatters the deeper colours a lot more I find highlighting and contouring during the Winter to look a little full on so I do tend not to use a lot of contour and only highlight slightly so I look as natural as possible.

Thanks so much for reading guys , hopefully you found some of this helpful , if you would like a mini tutorial on this look , feel free to comment below and I’ll get to it! if you have any questions leave them below and I’ll get back to you!

Review: Catrice Even Skin Tone Foundation

DSCN0761

Hi Everyone!

I’m back again with a foundation review , So I think everyone who reads my blog will know I have a mixture of different foundations and I use all of them , but my all time favourite is the L’Oreal infallible matte foundation and has been now for a long time. I haven’t actually went out and purchased a new foundation since then , I have been buying backups , but when I seen the Even Skin Tone foundation in my local pharmacy at the price of 8.49 , I pounced on it.

I’m a huge fan of inexpensive products , I’m a student and I can’t afford to pay out for high end products all the time , so I usually stick to the drugstore stuff until it gets to a special occasion like a birthday or Christmas, so this foundation was right up my street.Lets get on with the review.

Coverage:

The coverage of this foundation is medium to buildable , on days where I don’t want a heavy coverage with the L’oreal infallible matte foundation , I tend to stick to this.

Texture:

This is probably the hardest thing for me to describe, its liquidy but not runny , its thick but also feels thin , its basically everything but looks perfect on the skin!

Smell:

The only thing I hated with this foundation is the smell , it stinks! its like a chemically smell , but I noticed with most of Catrices foundations they have that distinct smell , so maybe Catrice thinks its gorgeous and doesn’t want to change it , who knows?

Durability

So I put this foundation on at around 7;30 in the morning ( hurray for early morning classes!) and I find that it lasts around 5/6 hours , its not long wearing but I do tend to touch my face throughout the day.

If you’re looking for a foundation that is going to last you through the day, unfortunately this isn’t going to be the one , it will start to wear off on places you tend to get oily throughout the day . If you’re looking for a foundation that wont look cakey and wont be a mask on your face , this is your foundation. It’s very natural on the skin and makes it appear as its just your own skin but better.

I hope you enjoyed this little review, if there are any other products you would like me to review feel free to drop them below and I’ll take a little look!

Vanity Tour 2015

12049001_977963672265056_1646834257_n

Hi Everyone!

So I decided to add in a little something different to the posts that I normally do and have opted to show you my vanity through video. I thought it was a quicker and easier way to show you my vanity and was so much fun to film. I love the idea of starting my own youtube channel so I decided why not make a vanity tour my first video? I’ll list below where I have gotten everything from,

Malm Dressing Table- Ikea

Brush Holders- Ikea ( originally candle holders and flower pots)

Silver candle holder – Ikea

Containers – Ikea

Acrylic storage – I got this from a little discount store in my area  for around 20 euro but I’m sure you can find other storage like this on amazon or ebay.

Mirrored Light – boots

I am currently waiting to get some hollywood lights and a big old mirror up but wanted to get this version of my vanity up first because I was too excited and I also wanted to see how the process would look like getting everything ready and sorted. I hope you enjoyed this rather differnet post and don’t forget to thumbs up the video!! It would mean a lot!

I know the quality isn’t superb I’m still getting used to some things but I’m hoping i’ll get better at editing and all that jazz later on!It literally looks like I filmed on a potato but I’m sure I’ll be A OK once I have my better camera on me!

How To: Warm Neutral Look ♡

warmneutrallook

Hi Everyone!

I thought I would do another step by step eye tutorial because my Halo Eye tutorial proved very popular on my blog. I decided to opt for something a little warmer this time as the last one was a very cool shimmery sort of look and this one is warm and matte. I used three eyeshadows ONLY ( which is huge for me I usually use at least 6 to get a desired look , is that too much? I don’t know haha ) so lets get into this super quick easy eyeshadow look!

warmneutrallook2

1. I applied a light layer of my Collection lasting perfection concealer to my eyelid and blended it out this acted as a base for my eyeshadows , I then took a matte white eyeshadow that I got from my Sleek Au Naturel palette and applied that all over the lid to set the concealer.

2. I then applied a light application of my Hola Bronzer to my crease and upper crease , working the colour in well and blending it out , I applied at least 4 layers of this to get the desired look that I wanted I used a lighter hand as I got closer to my eyebrow and less product, Hola is such a great crease colour because it compliments the entire look if you have the bronzer on your face also. It makes your crease appear naturally deep and therefore making your eyes look bigger.

3. Using a tiny little tapered fluffy brush I then went in with the colour Chocolate from the W7 In the Buff Palette and worked that into my crease area ONLY I used about 3 layers of this to really deepen the crease up

4.For the Lower lashes I took Hola on a large fluffy brush and swept it under my eye , I find that using a large fluffy brush for this works the best since it gives you that really instense blending out look, I then took a pencil brush and applied the Chocolate colour close to my lash line making sure it wasn’t going as low as the Hola.

5. To top the look off I lined my water line with NYX jumbo eye pencil in milk to make the look pop and used the Maybelline gel liner for my Liner.

Thanks so much for reading guys , I hope you enjoyed this super quick spur of the moment post , I thought I would make this a regular sort of thing because I love doing makeup and showing people what you can achieve with a few brushes and a little eyeshadow palette. Also .. lets not talk about my brows I’m currently growing them out to be able to get HD brows so excuse them haha!
