The Best Dewy Glow // Mac Soft & Gentle MSF

wp-1458754855048.jpg

Hi Everyone!

About two months back , I decided to really treat myself and go for a little mac goodie , I thought long and hard on what I really needed to acheive a perfect base , I had already got some holy grail products , but could never find a highlighter that suited me. After doing my research ( watching numerous youtube videos haha) I thought Soft and Gentle was the one and only for me.This product is such a staple in so many peoples makeup bags that I thought I should give it a whirl and see what the fuss was about.

So lets get into the nitty gritty details.

The price point is like any other Mac product , it doesn’t come cheap. This MSF came about at around 45ish but I knew I wanted to splurge on it , I’m not the type of person that really likes to treat myself unless its a birthday or holiday but I just thought after getting a new job , that I deserved it.

What drew me to it at first was the colour , its the most amazing pink champagne-y colour ever , and of course I just had to cover myself in it the first day I got it just to make sure it properly worked , I wouldn’t just want to put on the average amount of highlighter , oh no! I had to go all out.

I was actually surprised that it didn’t really feel that powdery when I touched it it felt like it just melted into my skin which of course I loved , there’s no worse feeling that having a big blotch of powder sitting on your cheeks doing nothing , its not at all flattering.

I am in love with dewy , fresh looking skin , I have quite dry skin so what ever type of product that promises moisture , or dewiness I’m all over and this product just changed my makeup game for the better.

If I want to go ALL OUT , and intensify it even more , before I add the S&G I like to get add a tiny bit of the Benefit high beam to the tops of my cheeks , blend it out and then apply S&G over that as it gives just a naturally stunning dew to the skin.

Have you ever tried this product? what are your thoughts on it? I would love to hear all about them in the comments below

Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream // Morocco

image(1)

Hi everyone!

So recently I purchased two Soft Matte Lip Creams and decided to take them for a whirl and see how I like them. I heard so many good things about the SMLC’s so I had to try it out for myself , I picked up Morocco and Antwerp. I decided I’ll review Morocco first and then Antwerp at a later date.

I am all about my oranges , I adore orange lippies so without a doubt I was immediately drawn to morocco , I love any type of orange lipstick , be it vibrant or muted and Morocco is definitely vibrant!

image(2)

I decided to swatch the tester before I bought it and I was in awe. The colour was this extremely vibrant orangey red which was something that I don’t have in my collection so it was definitely coming home with me.

The smell of all the SMLC’s smell like cake and icing , so if you aren’t a big fan of sweet smelling lip products , maybe you should turn away now. The smell for me was the second best part ( after the pigmentation of course) I love cake so this sat really well with me.

The texture is quite moussey but also light ,  it doesn’t completely dry to a matte finish but I like that , I hate when my lips feel dry and this matte lip cream keeps them feeling hydrated but gives the appearance of a matte lip.

I adore this product and I’m so happy I picked it up. You could even get away with wearing Morocco as a festive colour for Christmas! Have you tried any of the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams? Whats your favourite shade? Leave a comment below!

Winter Appropriate Makeup ♡

image (9)

Hi Guys ,

Look who’s being productive on the blog this week! I’ve been thinking a lot the past month on how I could change up my makeup and incorporate different products into my daily makeup  routine and make my “look” more “Winter appropriate” so I decided to sit down to a lovely cup of tea as the rain beats down outside and write about the products that can simply change up the look of your makeup to make you look like you’re ready to take on Winter!

In the colder months some women tend to get a little drier than usual , so I swap my usual L’Oreal infallible matte foundation for the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, this is a very dewy foundation so it will give you a glow even if you suffer from dry skin.

Winter is all about those dark red , cranberry lips and a staple in my Winter makeup is the Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick in 107 , this is a much raved about , much loved product in the beauty community and so it should be. It’s an amazing dark red that just makes a statement!

Golden eyes is a must for the winter , it shows off a bit of glitz and glamour and adds that sparkle to your eyes , personally I love golden eyes for the Christmas season because to me it just reminds me of how festive this time of year is! I love adding the Maybelline Colour Tattoo eyeshadow to the center of my lids because it makes your eyes appear bigger and sparkly  , keeping with eyeshadow I found a 15 warm coloured eyeshadow Palette on ebay a while back and thought that it would be perfect for creating warm toned looks for the winter. I adore the redish brown in the center for a crease colour to add something a little different to the look.

I don’t know about anyone else but i love glitter during Christmas , sometimes it can be a little bit of a task trying to get rid of any residue it leaves behind , but it adds something new to your makeup. I got the Collection Glam Crystals a while back and wanted to try something different with them , I actually add this to my inner corner of my eye when I do all matte on my eyes , I feel it really makes my eyes pop and its something different and cool for the winter.

Blush is a huge element that could change your makeup for the better during this season! I find deeper blushes to be amazing for this time of year. The Catrice Illuminating Blush in ” I am Nuts about You” is the perfect colour to be going into Winter with.

I tend to use less bronzer during Winter , because I feel I want to keep my makeup looking as season appropriate as possible  I also change my foundation to a shade lighter than usual because I feel it flatters the deeper colours a lot more I find highlighting and contouring during the Winter to look a little full on so I do tend not to use a lot of contour and only highlight slightly so I look as natural as possible.

Thanks so much for reading guys , hopefully you found some of this helpful , if you would like a mini tutorial on this look , feel free to comment below and I’ll get to it! if you have any questions leave them below and I’ll get back to you!

Keeping that Healthy Summer Glow | Tips & Tricks

glow

Hi guys ,

So with Winter at our doorsteps and Summer in the past I thought it would be a good idea to let you know my tips and tricks with keeping that beautiful summer glow we achieved over the summer. In Ireland we aren’t so lucky with our weather but I still have a few things up my sleeve on how to fake it and maintain that beautiful skin you’ve worked on all summer!

Just because its winter doesn’t mean we don’t want to look fresh and dewy. My favourite type of glow is the glow that comes from within and this can be achieved a number of different ways.

Keeping that Glow.

1.Dark green vegetables is your best friend for this one.Spinach and Broccoli are two examples These vegetables help with anti-aging and also helps with keeping our skin safe from the damage of the sun!

2. Zinc , found in red meat , eggs , nuts and mushrooms helps the skin create more collagen , making our skin feel more bouncy and youthful,Zinc is also a healer. Zinc helps clear up those dark spots and make skin feel more bright and awake.

3.Vitamin B found in milk , oily fish and poultry has a important role , Vitamin B helps keep our skin feeling moist and smooth!

4. SMOOTHIES! when I think of smooth glowing skin I think of smoothies. Aloha actually have amazing recipies for smoothies on their website Their Cleansing Green Protien smoothie just called to me when I seen it. You can find recipies to other smoothies and different drinks  on their website here

5. The best moisturizer I find for keeping that dewy bright look to the skin is the Avène skin recovery cream , its ideal for people who suffer from dry skin in the colder months and don’t want to say goodbye to that beautiful summer skin.

6.The No.7 skin illuminator is amazing for inhancing your natural glow , I wear this under my makeup to make my skin seem more brighter which is perfect for those dark early winter mornings

Fake it till you Make it!

If you’re as pale as me and long for that golden goddess glow  , then it might just be worth while reading up on what different fake tans have to offer. Some fake tans actually have added vitamins or oils to make sure your skin is still being taken care of when you apply it. I’ve included 2 of my favourite tans that I like to combine together to give me that desired healthy glowing skin.  I find its always better to fake tan so that your skin isn’t exposed to sunlight for long hours on end!

1.BBold Tan includes aloe vera , cocoa butter and Vitamin E these ingredients are key to getting that natural all over glowing tan! I picked this tan up a few months back and loved it and now its all I use. My skin doesn’t feel dry after using it so its two thumbs up for me! ( also it doesn’t have that disgusting tan smell )

2.Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs helps stimulate microcirculation that helps the skin stay firmer and healthier. This tan also looks natural and is perfect for your legs but can be used all over too.

I use these two tans in combination with each other using the Airbrush Legs for my legs ( how obvious can I get) and the BBold for the rest of my body. They’re both water resistant so they stay on during all weather , so there’s no need to worry about your tan in a blizzard you’ll stay fabulously golden!

I hope you enjoyed this little post guys , I was so excited when Aloha reached out to me to write this post , I thought it was so interesting and actually got me wondering how to keep that glow.

If you have any other tips on how to keep your skin looking summer fresh don’t hesitate to comment below so I can also try out your techniques!

My Everyday Makeup Routine! ♡

everydaymakeuproutine

Hi Everyone!

So today I was just lying about my house , and I thought why not write a blog post? and I was trying to do something new , something I hadn’t done before and then I realized I hadn’t even posted my everyday makeup routine , so I thought I would write about it today and tell you how I apply it and all that jazz! I have all the products numbered on how I would apply them so it would make it a little easier. I’m not going to include skin care because I want to do a post on that later on , on my blog so I left that out.

Makeup routine map

1. L’Oreal Infallible 24 hour Matte Foundation: This is now my holy grail foundation, I’ve finally found a foundation that I adore and that works best of my skin! I usually buff this in with a RT buffing brush but I have recently started bouncing a beauty blender over my face after it , it has given me the most flawless base ever! If you’d like to know more about this foundation you can read my full review on it HERE.

2. NYX HD Concealer: I’ve gone through two of these now and just love this product so much , a lot of people rave about how this is like the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealers , I’ve never tried them , so I can’t compare but these concealers are the best for highlighting aswell as covering up those pesky little imperfections! I apply this with a damp beauty blender to make sure its all blended in completely!

3. Bourjois Java Rice Powder: So I started off using this product as a highlighter because I had already owned a translucent powder and didn’t really need another so I multi-tasked and used it as a highlighter, since then my precious powder has ran out and I didn’t want to go and buy another so I thought I would use this since I already had it in my collection , and oh my god , this just makes your complexion look amazing , its so velvety and soft and makes your skin feel soft too! absolutely loving this powder!

4.Benefit Hoola Bronzer: ahhh Hoola , how I love thee! This bronzer is literally so amazing , it works on any skin tone whether you’re as pale as a ghost  or as sun kissed as a goddess, this bronzer will work on you its that universal! Its such a neutral tone that it doesn’t look orange or too grey on the skin it just looks like you’ve got such a beautiful tan! I have written all about this product HERE if you want to read more about it!

5.NYX Powder Blush in Angel: This blush is the perfect rosy blush! I find its perfect for any look that I go for , whether it be a glowy tanned look or a simple quick thrown together look. I use this because you literally cannot go wrong with it , it’s easily blendable and buildable!

6. Elf Eyebrow Kit in Light: I got this eyebrow kit from ShopMissA for 1 dollar! which is around maybe 89 cent in the republic of Ireland , bargain! this product is amazing , I didn’t hold up too much hope for it since it was only a dollar , but I’m glad I gave it a go since its become a staple in my makeup routine!

7.NYX Jumbo eye Pencil in Milk: A most loved and raved about product in the beauty community and a well worth loved and raved about product at that! I use this as a base and for carving out my brows! it makes eyeshadows stay on longer and also makes my eyebrows look hella fleekish!!

8. Sleek iDevine palette in Au Naturel: I’ve had this palette in my collection for some time now and I have to say its a love hate relationship , some of the colours are so creamy and buttery and blendable where most of the lighter shades can be more chalky and clumpy ( does this make sense? I dunno) I do however love the darker shades and use these shades to create a subtle “Halo Eye” which I have a How To blog post on how to achieve the look , you can read it HERE.

9.Essence Get Big Lashes Mascara: I love this mascara and with the price it is you really can’t go wrong , it combs through my lashes and just gives them a most needed lift! and yes , I do put on my mascara before my eyeliner… always have , always will! I wrote about this product HERE also.

10.Maybelline Eye Studio gel liner: I never used to be a big gel liner fan I usually leaned towards felt tip or liquid liners but recently I’ve gotten back into it and decided to give my maybelline eye studio a chance, it’s extremely creamy and easy to work with so I recommend it to those starting out with gel liner.

11. Estee Lauder Pure Colour in Hot Kiss Shimmer: If you’ve read my Top 4 Lipsticks post , you’ll remember I included this lipstick , this lippie is amazing! its a browny mauvey sort of colour that just goes with any type of skin tone , I wore it at my palest and I wore it at my tannest ( I get pretty dark especially when I go clubbing) I adore this lipstick but also quite sad that it was limited edition and I’m running out!!

Thanks so much for reading guys , I really enjoyed writing this post for you all , I thought I would do something a little different since I love mixing it up now and again , if you have any questions don’t hesitate , just ask below and I’ll get back to you! Do you have any recommendations on future posts? I would love to hear your opinions!

June Favourites 2015

june favourites Hi everyone! I thought I would do my June favourites today as I don’t think they’ll really change in the next four days since I don’t have plans on buying new products or watching anything new! This is my first favourites post so I thought I would just write down what I’ve been loving this month beauty related and then completely random! Hope you enjoy!

Beauty Favourites:

1. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk: I adore this product , I’m so glad I got my hands on it finally! My mum knew that I had been searching for this for ages and could never get it , so at the beginning of this month she spotted one left in my local drugstore and picked it up for me! I use this as an eyeshadow base and also to brighten up my tear duct area! I also use it to highlight under my brows! 2.elf Eyebrow Kit: I picked this up because it was only a Dollar on the shopmissa website ( you can see the haul I did from the shopmissa website here) and decided to give it a go earlier this month and I’m so glad I picked this little guy up! I got the shade light as I find mediums always a little too dark for me in any brow kit , this CHANGED my brow game! 3.Max Factor CC Colour Corrector: I decided to pick this up on a bit of a whim I didn’t really NEED it but thought hey why not? I actually tend to use this more as a brightening stick because its lighter than my foundaton so it highlights my face perfectly! I’ve been using it for the past month or so and I’ve noticed a great difference when I finish my base makeup! It also works at colour correcting too if y’all want to know but I use it mainly for highlighting!

Random Favourites:

1.Orange is the New Black: I started this show last week and watched all 3 seasons in 4 days! All I can say is WOW! I finally found a tv show that is interesting and doesn’t bore me by the third episode! I’m hooked and I cannot wait for season 4 now , pity its a year away! they really need to make 2 seasons  a year, have you watched Orange is the new black? comment below so we can have a fabulous conversation about Litchfields finest inmates haha!

2. Jurassic World: I’ve went to see this movie twice already since it came out, When I first seen the trailer for it I was already sold and wanted to go see it every since I knew it was coming out , The whole cast is pretty much amazing and I really can’t fault anything to do with it! great reboot! Have you seen Jurassic world? what did you think of it?

3.Sims Freeplay: So before you call me a cheap ass because I won’t buy the game , I thought starting out with the freeplay version would be better since I didn’t really know if I would enjoy it that much and would of bought Sims 4 and ended up hating it, buuuuuut I am addicted! I actually find myself ignoring my social media and just playing this all day .. which maybe isn’t the best when my boyfriend is wondering what I’ve been up to the past 5 hours haha but I’m seriously contemplating buying sims 4 now!

4. Danielle Mansutti: Can a person be in a favourites post? I’m sure they can! My favourite youtuber this Month and has been my favourite youtuber for almost a year now is the wonderful Danielle Mansutti, I adore Danielle , I think shes amazing she’s down to earth and a beautiful human being inside and out , she’s actually the person that inspired me to create a blog and influenced me to try make a youtube channel ( I have yet to film a video but it will be coming soon!) if you haven’t subscribed to her already you really should!

So those were my favourites for this month , I really enjoyed writing this post and can’t wait to write another next month! I had a lot of products that I liked this month but I wanted to narrow it down to just three and give you my all time favourites of this month just because it makes it a little easier and condensed!

I’m currently on the lookout for some new makeup products , leave your favourite makeup products down below so I can check them out!

My Favourite NYX products

favoruite nyx products

Hi Everyone!

Today I thought I would share with you my favourite NYX products that I’ve been loving and using more of this past while , NYX is one of my favourite drugstore brands because they’re affordable and such great quality and as student you really can’t go wrong with this brand! So lets get on with the show…

NYX Skinny black liner

This is one of my newest purchases of NYX and I’m loving it so far! The nib of the pencil is so small and precise that I find its so easy to apply in the water line and it beats liquid liner any day for me! I do find I need to set this with a black eyeshadow otherwise it would crease and I’d look like I had gotten into a bad fight the night before haha!

NYX Liquid Illuminator

I talked about this a while ago on my blog here , I use this as a liquid blush and then set it with a powder blush or just my normal setting powder because I feel as if it would move throughout the day if I didn’t. I also use a teeny tiny amount mixed with foundation to give my skin a healthy glow.

NYX Powder Blush in Angel

I can’t even describe how in love I am with this blush! I purchased this about a month ago and its all I’ve been wearing on my cheeks as of late! It’s amazing and suits my skin tone so well! It’s a very subtle but buildable dusty pink blush , perfect for all skin tones I feel , I use this when I’m at my palest and also when I fake tan! its amazing!

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk

What can I say? everyone and their cat has bound to have used this at some stage in their life. It’s the perfect base to make any colour look more dramatic and make the dullest of eyeshadow look bold and beautiful! I also like to use the smallest amount of this in my inner corner to brighten up my look. This should be a staple in anybodies collection I feel!

NYX Love in Florence eyeshadow palette

I got this palette for my birthday because I was so interested in the colours that this palette had to offer. The peachy pink at the top caught my eye immediately and the iridescent creamy white below it that has flakes of blue in it ( it didn’t pick up well on camera sorry!!) The matte black is amazing and sooo sooo pigmented!

NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray

This was one of the first products that I’ve ever picked up from Nyx and it was love at first spray! I swear this spray just lets all the powder in my face settle down into my skin and gives off a beautiful dewy glow! I also have a review on this product here , I don’t find that it makes my makeup last as long as it would normally but for the price and the  effect it gives off , makes it a winner in my eyes.

Thanks so much for reading guys I hope you enjoyed this post , I’m hoping to broaden my NYX collection , do you guys have any other NYX products that I should try out? I would love to know your favourites!
